The UPCEA Governance and Nominations Committee seeks nominations annually, and in accordance with UPCEA’s Bylaws (2023), for various leadership positions within the association. With this call for nominations, we strive to identify individuals who are willing to serve as strategic, fiscally-responsible, and inclusive leaders for the association. This nomination opportunity is open to all UPCEA members, both as nominators and nominees.

The UPCEA Governance and Nominations Committee is currently inviting nomination for the following positions:

Board Positions

  • President-Elect, 2025-2026, serving as the Board President in 2026-2027
  • Regional Cabinet Chair, 2025-2027
  • At-Large Directors (6), 2025-2027
  • Diversity and Inclusive Excellence Co-Chair, 2025-2027
  • Policy Committee Chair, 2025-2027

  • Professional members: Institutional representatives are encouraged to build diverse teams and to populate their UPCEA membership rosters accordingly. UPCEA is committed to offering content that is relevant to all practitioners within professional, continuing, and online enterprises;
  • UPCEA’s leadership: Volunteers within UPCEA, including those who serve on the Board of Directors, the Networks, the Regions and in other roles, will represent the diversity within UPCEA.

The Committee will accept and review nominations from the membership and then present a slate to the Board. Any individual named on the roster of an UPCEA member organization is eligible to be nominated for any position.   • Nomination Acceptances & Candidate Materials Deadline: Friday, September 13, 2024
  • GNC Deliberations: October 2024
  • Board Approval: November 2024
  • Nominee and Candidate Notifications: November 2024
  • Candidate Announcement to Membership: December 2024
  • Candidate Onboarding: February 2024
  • Board Candidates attend the Board Meeting adjacent to UPCEA’s 2025 Annual Conference (Denver, CO | March 24-26)

 

Time Commitment of Volunteer Leadership Roles

The Board of Directors and UPCEA staff members strive to make volunteer leadership roles both meaningful and convenient in terms of meeting attendance. An overview of the time commitment for each of the roles included in this year’s call for nominations can be found here.

Get Involved!

Historically, individuals selected during the annual call for nominations as candidates for senior level roles in the Association have been involved in various UPCEA committees, Networks, and Regions. If you are interested in starting your leadership journey in UPCEA, consider getting involved in UPCEA’s Networks and Regions.

You can join a Network via your member profile page and members are automatically added to the appropriate region based on their institutional affiliation and their institution’s location. Further, members can share their interest in volunteer roles via UPCEA’s website.
